A few years back I and a few of my friends went for a hike out of town. It was all fun until we got lost. One of our friends was a bit on the heavier side and he couldn't keep up with the rest of the group. We didn't realize until we lost sight of him that he is lost. It was panic mode, we had to search for him all the way back to the last time we saw him but couldn't find him. There were no signals in the area so we had to tent in the middle of nowhere so he finds his way so we can meet up. The next morning some hikers came down and communicated to us that a guy matching the description of ur friend had reached the top. Long story short our friend had taken a shortcut to surprise us but we ended up not reaching the destination early because of his shenanigans

It sounds like you had a very eventful and challenging experience on your hike. It can be very scary to lose someone in the wilderness, and it's good that you took the right steps to stay safe and try to find your friend. It's also important to remember that it's always best to stick together and communicate clearly with your group members when you're out in the wilderness. In the future, make sure to always let everyone in the group know if you're going to take a different route or make any other changes to your plans.
